Request for Proposals for Sponsorship Opportunities

The Transbay Joint Powers Authority (TJPA) has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES for the Transbay Transit Center Program from corporations, philanthropic foundations, individuals, families, and other entities (Respondents) for an extraordinary opportunity to have your name linked with the new Transbay Transit Center in San Francisco. The TJPA is offering the right to name the Transbay Transit Center and/or its component facilities, equipment, and services for a set term as outlined in the RFP. The selected sponsor or sponsors (Sponsor) will have unparalleled opportunities to reach millions of transit riders, retail and restaurant patrons, workers, residents, and tourists in the new heart of downtown San Francisco.

Sponsorship at the Transbay Transit Center will:
• Enhance corporate identity by association with an inspiring and iconic civic landmark in the heart of a vibrant new downtown
• Increase market capitalization through brand recognition
• Reinforce the Sponsor’s contribution and commitment to the Transbay Neighborhood and the City of San Francisco
• Expose the corporate name to patrons of concerts, performances, and cultural events
• Connect the corporate identity to the Bay Area arts community through support of the City’s most distinctive displays of public art

The TJPA is the public agency charged with developing the Transbay Transit Center Program, a $4.5 billion project to replace the former Transbay Terminal at First and Mission Streets in San Francisco with a state-of-the-art, multi-modal regional transit center that will connect eight Bay Area counties and the State of California through eleven transit systems, including rail extended into downtown San Francisco. The Transbay Program is the center of San Francisco’s new Transbay Transit Center District, a transformative, transit-oriented development plan that will concentrate residential and office growth around the Transit Center while providing gracious public spaces and amenities.

The TJPA contemplates entering into either a single agreement for sole and exclusive Sponsorship of the entire Transbay Transit Center and all of its components or several agreements for Sponsorship of individual components of the Transbay Program facilities, equipment, and services.

Proposals must be received by the TJPA no later than 4:00 p.m. Pacific Time on Thursday, October 22, 2015, at the same address. Proposals that are not received by the time and date specified, do not contain the required information, or do not meet minimum criteria will be deemed non-responsive and rejected without consideration. Proposers are solely responsible for ensuring the receipt of any and all documents, addenda, and questions and answers, and should therefore check the website before submitting their proposals.
