Five Artists Invited to Develop Conceptual Proposals for Iconic Transit Center Installations
On September 10, 2009, the TJPA Board approved five talented artists recommended by the TJPA’s Public Art Steering Committee to develop conceptual proposals for artwork installations in the new Transbay Transit Center. Ned Kahn, Julie Chang, Timothy Hawkinson, Jenny Holzer, and James Carpenter will work with Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects to create plans for significant and one-of-a-kind pieces to be incorporated into final design documents for the building.
